Where should first-time visitors stay in Tokyo?
Shibuya works well for energy, transport and a first look at the city; Ginza is better for polished shopping, dining and a calmer return at night. We split our stays between the two rather than commuting across Tokyo every day.
Tokyo is enormous, but it becomes much easier when each day is built around one or two neighborhoods. We loved the mix of polished hotels, design-forward shopping, unexpected experiences and food at every level.
